Got this puzzle specifically for my daughter-in-law who is a puzzle maven. She hammers out typical 1000 to 2000 piece puzzles in a few hours. Got this one thinking it may be more challenging, which it proved to be.First, the puzzle comes very nicely packaged, not in your traditional flimsy cardboard box, but in a very nice sturdy box within a box. It included two poster-sized images of the assembled puzzle which were printed sharp and clear to see. The individual puzzle pieces are atypical, not at all the same size or simple variations on little squares, but a wide variety of shapes and sizes. The puzzle material is a much higher quality than dime-store puzzles. The printing of the puzzle is outstanding, intense color saturation, sharp and clear, and more of an "art-quality" than any other puzzle we have seen. The puzzle artwork is very intricate and dense as well.My puzzle maven reports that this puzzle was more challenging to assemble than most any other puzzle. The variety of shapes and intricate print pattern make it harder. There are some pieces that do no interlock with adjoining pieces (straight edge to straight edge or curved edge to curved edge) which is also unusual. One truly unique feature is that the puzzle pattern included a round medallion image, and the puzzle set comes with both the puzzle-material medallion as well as a cast-metal medallion.Once assembled, the image is very good, and for anyone who has, or has considered finish-gluing up a puzzle this one would be a keeper.Bottom line: This puzzle is a great one for any serious puzzle person, or for a special event when you and a friend or family want to share some time with a unique experience. The only downside is that it is expensive, but to my mind, well worth the cost for a gift to a serious puzzler or for a special occasion. I will be looking for more similar puzzles if and when they come out!
This is the most amazing puzzle I've ever done. It's clear that the creators put hours and hours of time into its creation. I included photos of every aspect because you get so much included in the package. It's just breathtaking - the puzzle itself, the uniquely shaped asymmetrical pieces, the postcard, the two large renderings for reference, the two little bags of puzzle glue, and the little package that states not to open until the puzzle is complete. I mean, WOW! So much value, I could easily see spending even more, it's literally the only puzzle that's worth a higher price like this. And it saves me having to purchase and use my own puzzle glue so really, it's even money-saving!But let me tell you, it's hard! I love a challenge, but man is it one difficult puzzle. That's why it's so great that there's not only one poster for reference, but two - in case two people want to work on it at once! How thoughtful (and possibly necessary). It's so much fun working on this and seeing the intricate details and the vivid colors. And knowing you have a special gift to work towards opening, it just gives you something cute and surprising to work towards.I could go on forever about how much I love this - if you want the perfect gift for a puzzle lover, this is it. I hope they put out more because I will be first in line!
I wish I could give them 10 stars! This puzzle is absolutely STUNNING—crafted with precision-cut, sturdy pieces that interlock smoothly. The intricate steampunk artwork is mesmerizing, and the irregular shapes add a rewarding challenge. Thoughtful extras like two maps and postcards enhance the experience. The premium packaging completes the masterpiece. I’ve also purchased The Book: A Guide for Rebuilding Civilization by the same makers, and both products are beyond exceptional. Their quality is unmatched, and I truly hope they continue making more mind-blowing creations. Absolutely top-tier!
I would say we're a family of novice puzzle doers. We have about 8-10 in the house, maybe, of which we've probably completed half (some pique our interest, others do not). I ordered this based on the pictures and description, though admittedly I was a bit aprehensive, as it would be the largest (most pieces) and most complex-looking puzzle we've ever done.Well, man, we're not even close to finishing, but I'm thrilled anyway. Talk about a fun experience. The box itself is BEAUTIFUL. The packaging inside the box is BEAUTIFUL. The attention to detail and little secrets, surprises, finishing touches are BEAUTIFUL. I love this thing.The puzzle comes with so much interesting and extra features that I just didn't expect, and really impressed. Little cards showing the hand-designing of the puzzle. A couple of beautiful pieces of artwork/posters of the puzzle to frame or hang loose. The puzzle, itself, of course. And, the most intriguing (and genius) thing of all - a small envelope with some sort of prize or award or token (who knows?) only to be opened once you've completed the puzzle. I just think that's so rad, and such a fun idea. I wouldn't dream of opening it ahead of time - so it gives me motivation to complete the puzzle.Oh! And it comes with virtually everything you need to prep the puzzle for framing!Honestly, such a thoughtfully put together product - step way, way, way above every other puzzle I've bought in the past. Easy five stars.
I requested this puzzle because it looked challenging and I consider myself fairly adept at doing puzzles. Well, this puzzle is beyond my wildest expectations. It arrived within two days of being ordered and was packaged inside a cardboard box. The packaging, style, and presentation of the inner contents is just "wow".After getting over how beautifully packaged everything was, I proceeded to inspect the contents. The pieces themselves are cut in a plethora of irregular shapes. They are clean cut and the graphics on them are clear. They are sturdy and the few pieces I have managed to put together fit together seamlessly. The quality is better than any other puzzle I have seen.Included in the box is a small note from the designer, a postcard from the creators, puzzle glue (should you choose to immortalize your hard work), and two posters/reference guides. This is nice, particularly if more than one person is working on the puzzle at the same time.
