Yes. Hungry Minds states that the illustrations in The Book are hand-drawn by its artists. The creative process is documented with sketches and production work on The Art Behind the Book. The Last Book is also presented as hand-illustrated, with artwork by Lev Kaplan.
The Book suits a reader interested in science, history, engineering, medicine and the systems behind civilization. The Last Book is a better fit for someone who prefers graphic novels, speculative storytelling, visual art and mystery.
Choose the Standard edition if you’re mainly interested in the book itself. The Gift Box edition comes with the same book in a sturdy, illustrated presentation box, ideal for gifting. A premium illustrated book should be something you enjoy looking at and coming back to. Look for a subject that interests the reader, original artwork, clear printing, enough depth to make each revisit worthwhile, and a durable binding that can stand up to regular use. Size and weight are worth considering too, particularly with a large-format book that should still be comfortable to pick up and browse.
Shipping costs depends on the destination, order value, parcel weight and shipping method selected at checkout. Hungry Minds publishes market-specific free-shipping thresholds and flat rates, but these may change. Select the correct market, enter the delivery address and confirm the final charge before payment. The Shipping Policy provides the current overview.
The current Shipping Policy lists express delivery for eligible orders within the United States. If the option is available for your order, you’ll be able to choose it at checkout. Availability depends on the destination and order. For time-sensitive gifts, allow enough time for both order processing and delivery.
The customer is responsible for customs duties, import taxes and related fees charged by the destination country. Local customs may also delay delivery. Check the destination's import rules before ordering, especially when the parcel is being sent as a gift. Product prices and shipping charges do not necessarily include fees charged by local authorities.
The Book Gift Box is currently available in English, German, Spanish, Italian, French and Japanese. The Last Book is currently available in English only. Language availability may vary by title, edition, market and stock, so check the product page and cart before paying.
The recommended order date depends on the destination, the shipping service available and seasonal carrier demand. Allow up to five business days for order processing before the delivery period begins. Check the Christmas cutoff date for your market before ordering. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed, so it’s best to order early if your gift needs to arrive by a specific date.
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, keep the item and its original packaging. Submit a return request through the Order Return Request form, including the order number, a short description of the issue and clear photos where relevant. The current policy covers website purchases made within the last 30 days when the item remains in its original condition and packaging. Outbound shipping costs are not refundable, and customers normally cover return shipping and related duties, taxes and customs fees unless Hungry Minds states otherwise. Once the returned item has been received and inspected, approved refunds may take five to ten business days to appear. Read the Refund Policy before sending anything back.
